Stark is also being pressured to turn over his Iron Man technology to the DOD by snarky Senator Stern (Garry Shandling, looking really bloated), who's in league with rival weapons manufacturer Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), a sleazy fellow whose products may be junk but who'll do anything for a buck and has a gift for self-promotion (as well as the support of Stern). Meanwhile, in Russia, Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), whose father-an embittered former colleague of Howard Stark-dies, leaving his files to his son and thus allowing him to build (with what funds are unclear) his own battle suit featuring electrical "whips Download Coogan's Bluff." And in the guise of Whiplash he takes familial vengeance on the Starks by attacking Tony as he exhibits his risk-taking lifestyle by driving in a car race in Monaco Download Coogan's Bluff. The evocative costumes (by Judianna Makovsky) are likewise eye-popping, ranging from coarse nomadic cassocks to silky robes with delicate embroidery Download Coogan's Bluff. Just because she says she loves him, doesn't mean the audience is going to buy it Download Coogan's Bluff. Angelina puts no emotion at all in these scenes and August Diehl looks completely lost Download Coogan's Bluff. She and Liev Schreiber, who plays her CIA handler, work well together on screen. You actually feel like there's a real relationship and friendship there Download Coogan's Bluff. * Vanko's role was, overall, pretty sketchy Download Coogan's Bluff. Most of the way through I liked this; the character seemed like a bit of a super-smart thug, and his desire for revenge didn't really extend to hurting bystanders all that much, both of which were at the very least interesting ideas Download Coogan's Bluff. But it bothered me that he didn't have much of an end-game planned, or at least not much of a *sensible* one. If you're going to go with super-smart as a character trait, it's nice to follow through Download Coogan's Bluff.
