Manger en public
Ce programme est destiné aux personnes qui souffrent d'une phobie sociale et plus spécialement de la peur de manger dans un endroit où ils peuvent être observés.
Votre assistant vient chez vous. Vous lui servez du café ou une tisane. Vous le regardez boire. Vous ne participez pas tant que vous ne vous en sentez pas capable. Si depuis des années vous ne pouvez pas porter votre tasse pleine à vos lèvres de peur que votre main tremble et vous fasse renverser le contenu de la tasse, faites semblant de vous servir et de boire, alors que votre tasse est en fait vide.
Rendez-vous avec votre assistant dans une cafétéria. Votre assistant commande un café ou un jus et un léger goûter. Vous commandez également un café ou jus et en buvez un petit peu, si vous vous en sentez capable. Sinon, attendez que votre assistant ait terminé et partez.
Vous êtes chez vous avec votre assistant. Vous servez du café. Vous essayez d'en boire le plus possible, éventuellement par petites gorgées ou cuillerées. Si votre main tremble et que vous renversez un peu de liquide, ce n'est pas grave. Vous apprenez.
Recommencez l'étape 3 autant de fois qu'il est nécessaire jusqu'à ce que vous arriviez à terminer votre tasse sans trop trembler ni renverser.
Vous vous rendez tous deux chez votre assistant. Il vous a préparé un goûter léger. Vous faites votre possible pour manger et boire en sa présence. Recommencez jusqu'à ce que vous puissiez manger chez votre assistant sans trop de problèmes (tremblements et éclaboussures).
Vous invitez un ami et vous vous servez, ainsi qu'à vos deux convives, un repas léger. Vous essayez de terminer votre assiette alors que les deux autres personnes sont assises à vos côtés. Reprenez cette étape jusqu'à ce que vous puissiez manger en face de votre assistant et de votre ami sans trop de difficultés.
Recommencez l'étape 6 chez votre assistant, si celui-ci ne fait pas partie de votre famille bien entendu. Dans le cas contraire, cette épreuve sera exécutée chez un ami ou un parent plus éloigné.
Reprenez l'étape 7 en allant manger avec votre assistant chez un ami ou un parent. Les convives seront plus nombreux que précédemment.
Reprenez l'étape 8 en présence d'un plus grand nombre encore d'amis ou de parents.
Votre assistant, un ami et vous-même allez manger dans un petit restaurant.
Reprenez l'étape 10, mais dans un plus grand restaurant, plus fréquenté.
Vous mangez seul (personne d'autre n'est présent avec vous) dans un petit restaurant.
Vous mangez seul dans un grand restaurant.
Vous vous inscrivez et participez à un grand dîner organisé où vous serez à coup sûr assis à une table avec sept ou huit autres personnes.
